What are the Indications for a Tummy Tuck?
Changes in the abdominal wall occur as a result of pregnancy, weight loss, and aging. The amount of skin and fat and the weakness and separation of the abdominal muscles, directs the extent of surgery necessary. Most often a full abdominoplasty is needed, however we do tailor the operative procedure to the specific needs of our patients to achieve a flat abdomen. Abdominoplasty surgery is part of the “mommy makeover” trend and for good reason! Often times during pregnancy, the abdominal muscles stretch and no amount of crunches will return them to their pre-pregnancy position. Part of the abdominoplasty procedure helps to decrease the separation of these muscles helping to get your pre-baby shape back.
